Dr. Jina Scherer was born and raised in southwest Michigan. She began her education is communication disorders at Michigan State University. During this time, she fell in love with the field of audiology. She pursued her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from Central Michigan University, graduating in 2002, and found her passion in helping people with hearing loss to hear well and live well.

Following graduation, Dr. Scherer moved to Nashville TN to begin her professional career as both audiologist and business owner. Dr. Jina started her practice, Audiology Associates and Hearing Aids Today, in 2002 and continued to see patients and grow the practice until moving back to Michigan in 2025 to be closer to family. Upon moving home, Dr. Scherer has joined the practice of Professional Hearing Services and is excited to be part of the team and help people in our community.

Dr. Scherer is a dedicated professional in the medical treatment of hearing loss and tinnitus with an emphasis on cognitive health. Dr. Scherer is a Certified Dementia Practitioner allowing her to provide exceptional care to patients with varied needs. She is Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and clinically certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). As an expert in her field, Dr. Scherer has spoken extensively on hearing health care, hearing technology and the treatment of hearing disorders. She has also written a book “Hear Well, Live Well” to educate patients on hearing loss and treatment.

In her free time Dr. Scherer is actively involved with her family, her church, and her community. She enjoys music and being outdoors and loves animals and riding horses. She and her husband Sean are happy to be raising their 3 beautiful children here in southwest Michigan.
